Position: Finance Intern
Stipend: R169 617.72 per annum (Excluding Benefits)
Location: Main Office, Jane-Furse, Limpopo
Requirements
To qualify for this position, you need to meet the following criteria:
- Education: A minimum of Grade 12 is required, along with a BCom/National Diploma in Accounting, Financial Management, Cost and Management Accounting, Public Finance, Internal Auditing, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software are essential.
- Attributes: Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
Revenue Collection and Billing
You will be responsible for overseeing revenue collection processes, ensuring accuracy, and timely billing to stakeholders. This involves reconciling accounts, addressing discrepancies, and maintaining comprehensive records to facilitate financial transparency.
Budget Planning and Implementation
Collaborating with senior finance professionals, you will contribute to the development and execution of annual budgets. This includes conducting financial analysis, forecasting revenue, and monitoring expenditure to align with organizational objectives.
Financial Reporting
Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. These reports will provide stakeholders with valuable insights into the municipality’s financial performance and support informed decision-making.
Supply Chain Management
Assist in implementing supply chain processes and regulations to optimize procurement activities. This involves liaising with vendors, evaluating contracts, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Assets Verification and Maintenance
Conduct regular audits to verify the existence and condition of municipal assets. Maintain an accurate assets register and coordinate asset management activities to safeguard municipal resources effectively.
Expenditure Management Internal Control
Implement internal controls to monitor expenditure and prevent fraud or misuse of funds. This includes establishing approval processes, conducting regular audits, and enforcing compliance with financial policies.
