The Seriti Community Scholarship Scheme is designed to support outstanding students from our direct communities in Mpumalanga, particularly those in the vicinity of Pegasus Colliery. The scheme offers financial assistance to individuals who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to furthering their education.
Who Can Apply?
Eligibility Criteria
- Grade 12 learners provisionally accepted for study at a registered Higher Education Training Institution (HET) for 2024.
- University students currently pursuing a Degree/Diploma in any discipline at a registered HET.
- Preference is given to students from Pegasus Primary Communities.
- Applicants must be South African Citizens.
- Academic performance will be the primary selection criterion, with a minimum average of 60% required in the most recent results.
- Only accredited courses meeting the standards of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 6 will be sponsored.
Application Requirements
- Certified copy of the most recent Grade 12 report/Matric Certificate/Academic Record.
- Brief CV outlining academic achievements and extracurricular activities.
- Letter of provisional acceptance or proof of 2024 registration from an accredited mainstream University or University of Technology.
- Proof of residence, such as a copy of municipal water & lights bill or a letter from a Council member or Chief.

The Seriti Community Scholarship offers comprehensive support to successful applicants, including:
- Accommodation and meal allowance.
- Book allowance to cover essential study materials.
- Tuition fees for the 2024 academic year (excluding previous year’s failed subjects/modules and outstanding tuition fees from 2023).
Terms & Conditions
- Final contract is contingent upon official registration for the 2024 academic year.
- Students must pass their studies; failed subjects/modules are not sponsored.
- Seriti bears no obligation for students upon completion of their studies.
- Applicants studying bridging courses or in a foundation year are ineligible.
- Preference is given to applicants from the local community.
- Individuals benefiting from other sponsorship programs are not eligible.
