The ARC Internship Opportunity

We are currently seeking highly skilled and dynamic individuals to join our internship program. The internships are available in all nine provinces of South Africa and offer a one-year fixed-term contract. Successful candidates will be involved in various key performance areas, including:

  • Providing animal recording and improvement services to smallholder farmers.
  • Participating in the training and recruitment of farmers and teams in the Beef Recording and Improvement Scheme.
  • Visiting farmers for beef recording and improvement purposes.
  • Training new participants in different phases of beef schemes.
  • Participating in focus sessions/meetings with farmers’ teams/individuals.
  • Collecting information to compile a database of current herd statistics and livestock performance indicators.
  • Participating in the provincial farmer support team to implement the project.
  • Compiling monthly reports.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have a National Diploma in Animal Production. Additionally, they must be motivated and prepared to travel to farms and villages, possess good human relations, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Interested candidates must choose only one province they want to be placed in and submit their applications by the closing date of 14 March 2024.

Applications must include a covering letter, detailed CV (including certified copies of certificates, supporting documents, and a copy of the driver’s license), and must be emailed to APICV@arc.agric.za.

Non-RSA citizens with work permits must also attach certified copies of their permits and the names and particulars of three traceable referees. SAQA evaluation reports must accompany foreign qualifications.
