The National Department of Health is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed graduates to gain practical work experience through its Graduate Internship Programme. About the Programme
The internship programme will run for a minimum of twenty-four (24) months, providing interns with valuable hands-on experience in the field of Microbiology and Biomedical Science. Successful applicants will be placed in the Chief Directorate of Trauma, Violence, and EMS, based in Pretoria.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age
- Hold a National Diploma (NQF 6) or Degree (NQF 7) in Microbiology or Biomedical Science
- Possess good communication (written and verbal), planning, and organizing skills
Duties and Responsibilities
Interns will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Managing imports and exports of biological materials
- Inspecting laboratories, including tissue banks
- Acquiring information on international standards for establishing pathological laboratories and tissue banks
- Verifying registration of Principal Investigators and Medical Specialists with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
