Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: Minimum of Grade 10.
- Professional Registration: PSIRA Registered Grade C.
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Armed Response Certificate.
- Firearm Competency Certificate.
Job Requirements and Attributes
Candidates must possess the following attributes to excel in this role:
- Driving Experience: Minimum of two years of driving experience with a valid Code B/EB (or former truck license).
- Shift Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Maturity and Professionalism: High maturity level to handle the demands of the job effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Familiarity with the Area
Understanding the local geography and maintaining efficient response times are critical. Our officers are expected to:
- Quickly learn and navigate the area.
- Use the shortest possible routes to respond to incidents.
Client Interaction and Support
Our officers must show empathy and maintain excellent client relations by:
- Listening attentively to clients’ concerns.
- Ensuring clients’ welfare is a top priority.
- Following up with clients after serious incidents and offering necessary assistance.
Operational Duties
Daily responsibilities include:
- Conducting area patrols during off-peak times.
- Standing off at designated points during peak hours.
- Participating in daily parades and adhering to Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintaining the general appearance and hygiene of vehicles and equipment.
- Submitting comprehensive reports and providing accurate feedback as needed.
- Assisting with client problems and complaints, offering full feedback where necessary.
