Key Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Background:
    • Minimum of a Grade 10 Certificate or an Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) qualification.
  2. License and Experience:
    • A valid Code 8 Driver’s License.
    • At least 5 years of relevant driving experience.
  3. Core Competencies:
    • Familiarity with the local geography and routes within the city where the role will be performed.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
    • Reliability, creativity, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

As a Driver for the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, the successful candidate will be entrusted with a variety of critical tasks, including:

1. Transportation and Delivery Services

  • Operate light and medium vehicles to transport passengers and deliver items such as mail, documents, and office equipment.
  • Ensure safe and timely transportation of all assigned passengers and goods.

2. Document Collection and Distribution

  • Collect, distribute, and maintain proper control over the movement of documents and other related items within the department and external parties.
  • Guarantee secure handling and confidentiality of sensitive materials.

3. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection

  • Conduct routine maintenance on allocated vehicles, including checking oil, fuel, and tire conditions.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and report defects or necessary repairs.

4. Recordkeeping

  • Accurately maintain logbooks and trip sheets to document official trips, mileage, and vehicle conditions.
  • Complete all required documentation related to the transportation of goods and passengers.
